Business leaders meet with Government minister
The early successes of the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership have been shared with a member of the Government during a visit to Lincoln.
Business Minister Mark Prisk visited the city to meet with members of the partnership and local business leaders. The group came together to discuss the progress the partnership has made, its successes to date and the priorities it hopes to address.
Ursula Lidbetter, Chairman of the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, said: “The meeting looked at how the partnership could help drive business growth throughout the local area. The minister was certainly impressed with the work we’ve carried out so far and our ambitious plans for the future. It was also a chance for us to talk about the issues that are important for Lincolnshire businesses. All in all, it was a successful day and, hopefully, the first of many such visits.”
The meeting follows news that the LEP has been granted more than £6.6 million to kick-start housing and commercial developments in the county. The money will be used to bring forward vital infrastructure projects, such as transport improvements or flood defences, which will clear the way for development projects to go-ahead.
The Greater Lincolnshire LEP is a partnership of private and public sector organisations working together to promote economic growth. For further information on the Greater Lincolnshire LEP, its members and its work, please visit www.greaterlincolnshirelep.co.uk
