RAM Models to support Cockpit-Fest 2012

The charitable event at Newark Air Museum returns in June.

This two day event has taken place annually for more than ten years and this year happens on 16th and 17th June. Cockpit-Fest takes place on the museum’s site in eastern Nottinghamshire close to the county border with Lincolnshire, and attracts cockpits and visitors from across Great Britain and sometimes from Europe.

At last year's Cockpit-Fest, companies and organisations had an opportunity for to become involved in supporting the event. The same opportunity exists this year and the trustees of Newark Air Museum are pleased to announce support from the recently formed RAM Models, who will support one of the judging categories.

RAM Models was set up in 2011 by Martin and Katie Garrett and as well as holding a range of stock of Racing, Aviation and Military model items RAM model also fulfil special orders to obtain those items that are not yet held in stock. Martin Garrett has used Newark Air Museum as the location for some of his ever expanding range of ‘walkaround’ Aviation CDs. As well as supporting Cockpit-Fest, RAM Models will have a stall at the Spring Indoor Aeroboot at Newark Air Museum on Saturday 3rd March.

Martin Garrett says, “We wanted to get involved with an event that allowed enthusiasts to get close to aircraft cockpits and avionics, which are an important aspect of detailed aircraft modelling. 2012 will see us release our own range of decal covering some exciting aviation subjects from around the world in all the major scales for aviation modellers, and Cockpit-Fest seemed a great way of promoting these products to aviation enthusiasts.

“2012 will also see us release our own range of radio controlled model aircraft part kits. We have commissioned subjects to be designed for us by some of the leading names from the R/C model aircraft world. So we may have some of these items on show in June!”

Newark Air Museum is also in ongoing discussion with several other potential supporters for this annual charitable event.
