Open-top bus tours for Lincolnshire

For the first time since 2004, Lincolnshire will see open-top bus tours returning.

Closed down in 2004, the service was noted as being incredibly popular, and yet financial difficulties within Stagecoach, and the need for the bus to be replaced, saw the service end. However Lincoln BIG has joined up with Stagecoach and the Visit Lincoln Partnership to revive the service in Easter 2012.

The decision came about as a result of the amount of tourism that could be seen in the country in 2012, as a result of the Olympics, and also the Royal Diamond Jubilee. With the Lincolnshire area playing host to a few Olympic teams, the potential for visitors to the area is far higher than in any previous years.

Though the route has not yet been finalised, it is expected to encompass the Lincoln Cathedral, Lincoln Castle and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. Despite this the company is still searching for a vibrant and professional tour guide available to work odd hours throughout July and August.
