Cookery classes demonstrate why local is best

Cookery classes will be taking place in three areas of East Lindsey next month giving people the chance to develop new skills and learn how to cook local produce.

East Lindsey District Council has launched the free classes with NHS Lincolnshire as part of its efforts to encourage people to grow their own produce and to eat more healthily.

On September 14th, it was announced that Lincolnshire was the country’s favourite food hot spot with some of the best vegetable, meat, cheese and baked goods.

The cookery sessions take place as follows:

•Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Mablethorpe Football Club between 10am and 12noon.

•Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at St Wilfrids Hall, Alford, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.

•Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Fulstow Village Hall between 1pm and 3pm.

•Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Winthorpe and Seathorne Community Hall between 10am and 12noon.

The Council has also launched an online recipe book at www.e-lindsey.gov.uk/foodforlife where recipes can be downloaded.
