Lincolnshire Sausage festival

Spotlight falls on Lincolnshire's far-from-humble banger

The spotlight falls on the most famous of all Lincolnshire’s famous foods on Saturday 29th October – the date for the ninth Lincolnshire Sausage Festival.

Entertainment for all the family is promised at the event, between 10am and 4pm at Lincoln Castle and Castle Square, but the star is clearly the far-from-humble banger.

Last year 10,000 visitors attended to pay homage to the king of sausages, and it’s hoped this year’s turnout will be at least as good.

Taking centre stage will be a series of children’s cookery demonstrations which have been especially designed to engage with younger children and make cooking fun.

TV chef Rachel Green, Lincolnshire’s local food champion, will once again return to entertain the crowds with her live cookery demonstrations. Using the freshest ingredients from an array of market stalls attending the festival, Rachel will create delicious dishes which will be shared with visitors.

Lydia Rusling, Project Leader for organisers Tastes of Lincolnshire said: “We’re proud to support the Sausage Festival. Last year it attracted over 10,000 visitors to the city and has become one of the biggest foodie events in the year.”
