Plans show 42,000 homes to be built in Lincolnshire

Plans to build over 42,000 homes in the Lincolnshire, Gainsborough and Sleaford area will be unveiled next month.

The scheme comes as a result of the area winning Governmental money to achieve a Growth Point Status. The project should happen over the next fifteen years, and is being organised by a joint committee of District and County Council representatives.

Consultations will be happening within the next month, though it seems a large amount of the decision has already been made and confirmed. The theory is that over the next fifteen years this will support an additional 86,000 residents, and provide 28,000 extra jobs in the area.

Although more specific locations will be provided later for the development, it is estimated that no less than 17,000 of the new houses will be built in and around the Gainsborough area.
