Sporting Gold for West Lindsey Leisure Centre
West Lindsey Leisure Centre has won gold and bronze at the Health Club Magazine awards.
The bronze award was in the category of best club in the UK with less than 2,000 members and the gold is for best club in the East Midlands.
These awards are as a result of members going onto the Health Club web site and registering their satisfaction.
The votes were for group exercise and gym, which is down to the hard work of Group Exercise Manager, Tracey Warrener from Lincoln, and Gym Manager, William Jones also from Lincoln.
William and Tracey said they would personally like to thank all the customers that took the time and voted for them. They are now committed to improving on this award for next year and are happy to receive any further customer feedback to help deliver this.
William said: “I am delighted that the facility has won the awards and it goes to prove that the feedback given to us by customers, during their fitness reviews, are being acted upon.”
Tracey had introduced a brand new group exercise timetable in January 2011, which is varied and based on what the customer asked for.
She said: “This has been achieved by flexing the programme within the space we currently have, to suit our customers’ needs.”
Leisure centre manager, Peter Smith felt really proud and said: “William and Tracey have put so much work into improving the customer service at West Lindsey Leisure Centre.
“William has helped retain more members and has increased participation by delivering a first class experience with the help of his team, including GP referral participants, and running sessions for disabled users.
“Tracey has taken group exercise to the next level by increasing attendance in classes, introducing more classes than ever before. There really is something for everyone on the timetable!”
Councillor Gillian Bardsley, Vice Chair of the Prosperous Communities Committee and local ward member is really pleased with the awards.
She said: “A lot of work has been put into the leisure centre by the staff from Everyone Active and West Lindsey District Council, and it is good to see it being rewarded.
“West Lindsey Leisure Centre is definitely a place to visit and offers a good variety of different activities.”
William and Tracey have engaged customers to be more active, more often achieving the minimum of 30 minutes, five times a week that ‘everyone active’ recommends.
Everyone Active took over running the Leisure Centre in partnership with West Lindsey District Council in June 2009.
