SUPERBIKES

Cadwell bigger than ever

The British Superbike Championship event at Cadwell Park will be bigger than ever this season with three races taking place.

The move comes after the second race at the Oulton Park circuit had to be postponed following persistent heavy rain. It will now take place on Sunday 28th August at Cadwell, on the second day of the Bank Holiday weekend event.

Swan Yamaha’s Tommy Hill set the fastest lap in race one at Oulton Park so he will start from pole position for the rescheduled contest. Michael Laverty and Josh Brookes complete the front row with title leader Shane 'Shakey' Byrne and rival John Hopkins starting from row two.

The Cadwell Park round takes place at a crucial point in the season as the battle for the top six in the standings intensifies. There are a maximum of 75 points up for the taking over the three races as the main protagonists fight for their last chance to secure a place as a Title Fighter in the final three round Showdown.

Watch out for more about the event at Cadwell Park, including your chance to win tickets, in August's Lincolnshire Today - out next week!
