Historic rally car to be auctioned online
An historic Renault Alpine rally car will the be the star attraction in an online auction of the assets of a Lincolnshire car dealership that went into administration.
Administrators Peter Blair and Andrew Cordon of corporate recovery specialists Begbies Traynor are working with agents to prepare the assets of AC Williams' Renault dealerships in Grantham and Ancaster which closed with the loss of 23 jobs in December.
In the meantime, the administrators are continuing to trade AC Williams' coach business and Begbies Traynor partner Peter Blair says they had had several expressions of interest for the coach business and were hopeful of receiving formal offers in the next few days. He says, “The coach and business division currently employs around thirty staff and we are doing our best to save those jobs." AC Williams now operates from just the one site at Ermine Street, Ancaster.
The online auction will be run from 12 noon on Thursday 26th January and viewings are available at the Ermine Street premises in Ancaster from 10am to 4pm on Tuesday 24th January. Lots will include a 1972 Alpine Renault A110 1600S left hand drive rally car, a 1982 Renault Alpine A310 2.7V6 left hand drive sports coupe, and a 1994/95 N-reg Renault Megane 2.0L 16 valve left hand drive rally car built for the Dutch touring car series and later modified for rallying. Other lots include motor vehicles including vans, cars, a recovery truck and business equipment and office furniture.
