Monte Carlo rally to return to Barnby Moor
The Official Monte Carlo Rally will arrive at Ye Olde Bell Hotel, Barnby Moor this Sunday.
Ye Olde Bell Hotel and Restaurant at Barnby Moor is once again proud to be hosting a checkpoint for the 101st Monte Carlo Rally on the evening of Sunday 29 January.
Come and see the spectacle of the cars and meet the drivers as they call at the hotel en route to Dover for the crossing to Calais.
The day will run as follows:
5pm: Cars leave Glasgow to travel to Ye Olde Bell Hotel, Barnby Moor, Retford, Nottinghamshire DN22 8QS
9pm: Official Checkpoint opens and cars arrive at Ye Olde Bell at intermittent intervals from
9.30pm: Cars then travel to Dover/Calais and arrive in Monaco on Saturday 4 February 2012
101 years since the first Monte Carlo Rally in 1911 started by Prince Albert I of Monaco as an endurance and adventure to drive the 2053 kilometres/2190 miles in their classic cars over the frozen Alps in winter into the sunshine of Monaco and immortalised in the 1969 film “Monte Carlo or Bust”. In that year only 16 out of 23 cars made it.
