Chinese Association celebrates ten years

The Humberside Chinese Association can trace its roots back to 1977 but it was formally founded in 2001. To celebrate this anniversary, a huge celebration took place at the Humber Royal Hotel in Grimsby.

The aim of the Association, whose chairman is currently Simon Ho of the China Royal Restaurant in Brigg, is to bring together all the Chinese people who are currently living in North and North East Lincolnshire, and further afield, to provide support and advice, as well as ensure they are fully represented in day to day life in the region, allowing the wider community to understand their needs and traditions.

Guests at the event came from as far as Somerset and Swansea, London and Liverpool and Manchester and Newcastle, all there to enjoy great company and fantastic entertainment, including Lion and Capricorn Dance, singer Lynn Storey and Chinese artist Goldie.
