Skegness 4th most popular UK holiday destination
Skegness is the 4th most popular UK holiday destination, according to the latest research by Visit England.
East Lindsey District Council's Portfolio Holder for the Economy, Councillor Craig Leyland, is delighted: "Skegness is immensely popular, you only need to visit the resort to see that and to be placed fourth most popular holiday destination in the UK is fantastic.
With SECWHA and other local and national organisations we continue to work hard to raise the profile of Skegness to ensure it continues to attract its current visitors and also new visitors, people who may have previously chosen to holiday elsewhere.
Skegness is not only a place for the traditional bucket and spade holiday, we now host major cultural events including SO Festival, national beach sport competitions and the AMCA motorcycle racing in November. We must build on the findings of this report to strengthen our coastal economy by extending the season to create new jobs and business opportunities. We need to ensure the East Coast continues to thrive.
