Highly experienced candidates are being sought for a high profile and challenging role with the Lincolnshire Hospital Trust after the current Chairman, Ron Buchanan announced his intention to retire in March 2016.

Mr Buchanan has held the position for two years. He was previously a corporate banker by profession, and spent 30 years with a major UK financial organisation, undertaking a variety of senior leadership roles.

After becoming a non-executive director of Nottingham City Hospital in 2004 and appointed  Chair of Nottingham City Primary Care Trust in 2006, he steered the trust to become one of the top performing PCTs in the country. He also took on additional responsibilities as Chair of Notts County PCT from 2011 and led the board in stabilising its financially challenged position. He finally joined Lincolnshire Hospital Trust in 2014.

A successor for the post is now being sought to help transform the Trust and make a positive difference to the lives of people in Lincolnshire.

The Chairman/woman will provide the leadership needed to secure improved healthcare services for patients and the local community, both now and in the future. The successful candidate will have experience of leading organisational change to achieve improvement, proven governance and financial skills, and an understanding of the challenges facing NHS healthcare providers.
