An unconventional sex farce with sea creatures will make its UK premiere at Lincoln Drill Hall at the end of this month.
Well known Lincoln-based drama group Common Ground Theatre Company will stage the first UK production of The Fisherman’s Wife by US playwright Steve Yockey.
The hilarious and fast-moving play, which features music and puppetry as well as elements of traditional farce, can be seen in The Room Upstairs at Lincoln Drill Hall from Thursday 30th April until Saturday 2nd May.
In a tumbledown, unfurnished house in a small seaside town live Cooper, an unsuccessful fisherman, and his wife Vanessa. He is unable to satisfy her desires; she is bored and frustrated.
Enter a travelling salesman who may have just the right thing to help… Add an oversexed Octopus and Squid in human form and you have an absurd and fantastical fable of love and relationships.
Performances start at 7.30pm nightly and tickets costing £8 (£6 concessions) are available from the Lincoln Drill Hall box office. Call 01522 873894 or visit www.lincolndrillhall.com to book online.
