B Knight & Son Ltd has traded as a timber merchant and manufacturer since 1874, being in the Knight family for over 145 years, passed through the generations and delivering a personal and knowledgeable service committed to quality and professionalism.
Conveniently situated in the village of Langworth on the A158 between Lincoln and Wragby, the business was started by Benjamin Knight, the current owners’ great and great great grandfather, having bought the site as a brick yard and turning it into a successful timber yard.
Currently under the family leadership of John, Ben, and John’s daughter Helen, the business supplies manufactured timber items all over the East Midlands. Products include domestic and commercial fencing, handmade gates, bespoke structures, garage doors, treated timbers and supplies of hard and softwoods to the retail and trade sectors plus a wide range of garden furniture, decking and bird tables. In addition, they can supply firewood, woodworking tools, ironmongery and treatments for all timber products and projects.
B Knight & Son Ltd also supply local councils and schools with many of their timber products. They can deliver your items on a weekly basis using their own service within the East Midlands or by courier for further afield. The business also acts as agents for Palmako garden and weekend houses, supplying everything from quality children’s playhouses and high-end garden buildings to four bedroom cottages delivered directly to you.
B Knight & Son Ltd have a traditional sawmill on site offering a milling service after many other sawmills have become a thing of the past. This allows the business to offer a service hard to find these days, cutting green round hardwood and softwood logs to customer specific requirements. All timber is acquired from sustainable sources. Open to the general public and trade customers five and a half days a week, staff are always on hand to assist with any timber queries.
B Knight & Son Ltd are much more than an off the shelf company, they can supply items that cannot be bought over the counter with traditional craftsmanship at the heart of everything they do. A loyal customer base which has passed through the generations and an ever-expanding market through word of mouth and recommendations is what has kept the business thriving for so long.
Anything timber related would be considered for manufacture by the skilled on-site team, offering advice from design to fitting the finished product. There is nothing too small or too ambitious to challenge them.
