Andrew & Co shortlisted for to national award

Newark and Lincoln-based law firm Andrew & Co LLP has been shortlisted for a prestigious LawNet Award.

The firm has been named as a finalist in the Best Innovation category in recognition of its work in the renewable energy sector.

Earlier this year Andrew & Co LLP appointed corporate and commercial lawyer Helen Bell to head up its new energy and renewables team.

Along with commercial property specialist Julia Lock, agricultural expert Helen Barton and experienced construction lawyer Paul Bloomfield, Helen offers specialist advice to landowners, developers, growers, investors and suppliers involved in renewable energy projects including wind farms, solar parks and biomass power plants.

Together with Lincolnshire Media, Helen was the instigator and mastermind behind the first ever Lincolnshire Energy Awards which took place in June 2014 and saw 17 businesses compete for the top spot in eight different categories including Innovative Development of the Year, which was sponsored by Andrew & Co.

Helen says: “The LawNet Awards recognise excellence within legal practices from across the UK, not only the East Midlands, so just being shortlisted is an achievement.

“We are particularly pleased to be competing in the Best Innovation category as the ability to think creatively and adapt to changing customer demands is fundamental to future success to both ourselves and our clients.

“Along with my colleagues in each of their specialist areas, we have a very strong team focused towards the renewable as well as more general energy sector and provide a full understanding and depth of knowledge into this ever growing sector.

“Andrew & Co LLP is committed to developing new ways of working and challenging the status quo to provide the best possible service to our clients. We have two centres of excellence in Lincoln and Newark and employ experienced and qualified staff who are experts in their field.

“As well as further developing the excellent start we have made in the renewable energy sector we are also looking at expanding our agricultural team and have recently expanded our commercial property team with the appointment of Paul Bloomfield in Newark.

“Winning this award would be a fantastic end to what has been a very successful year for the firm.”

Andrew & Co will find out whether they’ve won the award at the LawNet Annual Conference on 14th November at the Belfry in Sutton Coldfield.
