Beauty and the Beast at the New Royal Theatre, Lincoln

Lincolnshire Today had the pleasure of being invited to the press launch for Beauty and the Beast at the Lincoln Theatre Royal last Friday. After a week of storms and being introduced to Plan B a bit of Panto was just what the doctor ordered. There really is no better way to get that festive feeling than the escapism of a Christmas Pantomime, produced by Natalie Hayes-Cowley.

The cast’s costumes and staff were fantastic – it was so lovely to see the audience participation of ‘He’s behind you!’ and of course the ‘booing’.

Jake Quickenden as Flash Hugo really stole the show for me with his slap stick tongue in cheek performance of the ‘self loving’ Prince, followed and admired by his ‘singit’ crew who were hilarious and only spoke in ‘film catchphrases/puns’ – very clever and fun.

Zoe Hanna May as Belle also put in a stellar performance with her beautiful voice and was a very believable Belle. The Beast (who was rather scary) also shone through.

All in all this was one of the best Pantomimes I have been to in a very long time – pure quality from start to finish. The whole cast really seemed to enjoy themselves and of course the audience felt that.

We would highly recommend a visit, book soon to avoid missing out.

Visit here to book tickets. Beauty and the Beast runs from 7th December – 9th January
