Classic Ibiza wows capacity crowd on Burghley House return

Classic Ibiza returned to Burghley House over the weekend, serving up a delicious taste of the fabled White Isle in the grounds of one of our country’s best-loved stately homes.

Saturday saw Classic Ibiza’s largest-ever Burghley audience of 8,000, with the Urban Soul Orchestra (USO) leading the capacity crowd on a rapturous four-hour journey of the very-best in Balearic-infused sounds. USO have worked alongside some of the greats in dance music, including Groove Armada, Robert Miles and Nightmares on Wax.

Classic Ibiza’s Lisa Ward says: “What a way to mark our return to Burghley House. Our performers and crew were on red-hot form, but we want to send a massive thank you to our amazing Burghley audience. They’re the ones that bring the Classic Ibiza vibe and the atmosphere on Saturday was electric!”

The show started at 6.30pm with a ‘Chill-Out Set’ by DJ Jose Luis. Spinning a laid-back mix of Afro/Latin beats, the former Pacha Ibiza resident DJ got the crowd in the mood as they settled into the family-friendly atmosphere.

USO took to the stage at 8pm for the ‘San Miguel Sundowner Set’, reinventing iconic dance tracks, including Killer (Adamski), Sun Is Shining (Funkstar De Luxe vs. Bob Marley), For An Angel (Paul van Dyk) and Red Alert (Basement Jaxx).

Goldierocks took control of the decks at 9pm, with a ‘House DJ Set’ of up-tempo house classics. Then, as night fell and Burghley’s grounds transformed into an alfresco nightclub, USO returned for the ‘Dance Set’. Accompanied by an incredible laser and light show, the evening built to a crescendo to a host of stone-cold dance classics, including Galvanize (The Chemical Brothers), Waiting All Night (Rudimental), Push The Feeling On (Nightcrawlers), Toca’s Miracle (Fragma) and God Is A DJ (Faithless).

With the crowd chanting for more, USO finished the evening off with a high-octane encore of three Classic Ibiza favourites: Firestarter (The Prodigy), Set You Free (N-Trance) and Sandstorm (Darude). Over 35 tracks were performed by USO on the evening, including 15 completely new orchestrations.

Classic Ibiza at Burghley is proud to be supporting East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices. Various fundraising events took place on the evening, including a £2.50 donation from every programme sold.

Classic Ibiza returns to Burghley House on Saturday 29 July 2023. Register for tickets:
