After a two-year absence due to the COVID pandemic the sun was shining as crowds gathered at Boston’s fourth 1940s event funded by Boston Big Local and Boston Town Area Committee in Central Park.
Crowds flocked into the park to listen to a variety of entertainment which consisted of performances by Miss Lily Lovejoy, Pete Jones, Sparky and Sprite, Boston Jive, Charlie Buck and The 40’s Home Front.
There were vintage engines to watch running, re-enactments all giving history on their individual groups and fantastic displays of 1940’s memorabilia, trade stands and activities for children including fairground rides and arts and crafts.
The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Fly Past with Lancaster was scheduled but unfortunately due it being grounded with a fuel leak this was cancelled last minute.
Fran Taylor, event organiser, said: “The weather absolutely beautiful, the crowds gathered and the community came together to enjoy an amazing day. Children were able to ride on the vintage fair and many enjoyed making the vintage art and crafts.
“It was wonderful to see the whole community come together, enjoying each other’s company and making new friends whilst enjoying the event.
“We are so grateful to Boston Big Local for continuing to fund this event and we are already looking forward to see what 2023 has in store.”
