Last week, Lincolnshire Today attended the magical Aladdin panto at the Grimsby Auditorium that well and truly put us in the festive spirit. Oh yes it did!
There’s nothing quite so perfectly entertaining for the whole family than panto. There’s bright costumes, high camp and comedy, and catchy songs for the kids, whilst the adults get a kick out of the clever innuendo that goes straight over the little one’s heads. There was plenty of everything in Aladdin and we’d happily go along again.
Part of what made this particular production so memorable and entertaining was the stellar cast, which included Emmerdale’s Stuart Wade as Wishee Washee, Coach Trip’s Brendan Sheerin as the Emperor Confucius Pong and Lincolnshire’s own Michael Courtney as fiendish baddy Abanazar.
With plenty of fun and laughter, this panto is well worth a visit over the Christmas period which runs until Saturday 28 December.
