The second Festival of Skills and Opportunities has now begun!
The Open Doors jobs fair kicked off the festival at The Baths Hall on 29 September with hundreds coming through the doors to meet over 40 local employers and training providers.
Don’t worry if you missed the first event, there’s plenty going on throughout October.
Are you interested in a career in health and social care or in energy and renewables? Are you thinking of becoming a teacher? As part of the Festival of Skills and Opportunities we will be holding three Sector Saturdays for people to find out more about what a career in these three areas could hold and how to get into them.
Our Health and Social Care Sector Saturday will take place on 1 October at the Action Station on Cole Street. Come along and get hands on staff from North Lindsey College, John Leggott College and Health Trainers plus many more exhibitors!
Our Construction, Energy and Renewables Sector Saturday will take place on 8 October with the Teaching and Education Sector Saturday taking place on 22 October. Laptops will be available at all our Sector Saturday events for those who want to apply there and then to any training courses or jobs opportunities.
Local graduates looking for work won’t want to miss the Graduate Speed Networking event at Heslam Park Rugby Club on Tuesday 4 October.
At this quirky event, graduates ‘speed network’ with local businesses to be matched for eight-week work experience placements. The eight-week placements provide invaluable work experience for local graduates and a guaranteed reference when they come to apply for jobs.
