The Lincoln Business Investment Group is dedicated to doing whatever it can to improve Lincoln’s attractiveness as a shopping and tourism destination, and in the last year alone has organised over 150 events, including its most recent steampunk event, mayhem at the asylum, which took place last weekend.
The Lincoln BIG, which has brought in over £350,000 private sector investment each year, might have its future under doubt however – as Lincoln councillors must vote to decide whether the organisation will continue for the following years.
Council Leader Ric Metcalfe is firmly in favour of the Lincoln BIG, and has stated that he will be voting the let them continue, and is urging other councillors to do the same.
The group have their own plans for the next five years, which they hope will improve the Lincoln city as a destination for thousands of people. This even includes lobbying to have an improved rail service created for the city.
