Know someone doing good things for your community? Nominate them for a 2022 award.

Do you know a local person or organisation that goes the extra mile ? If so, this is your perfect chance to celebrate their work through the Good Citizens Awards.

Nominations are now open for our Good Citizens Awards 2022 and the awards hope to recognise individuals, pairs and groups who make a real difference to their communities through volunteering.

There are four categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year (aged 21 or below)
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Couple/Pair of the Year.

Winners will enjoy a VIP day out at the Lincolnshire Show with a guest, as well as being awarded a framed certificate.

The last award event was 2019 at which time the winners were:

  • Rob Turner of Caistor – Citizen of the Year.
  •  Jack Covill-Lowndes from Wainfleet – Young Citizen of the Year.
  • Springline Good Neighbours Scheme – Community Group of the Year.
  • Joy and Doug Rodwell from Hemingby near Horncastle – Couple/Pair of the Year.

There was also a special award for Community Leadership which was won by Andrew and Heather Inkley of Spalding.

The kind of unpaid work the organisers would like to hear about includes:

  • making sure neighbours are cared for
  • raising funds for charity
  • organising events
  • supporting good causes
  • looking after the environment

The closing date for 2022 entries is Friday 6th May 2022 and nominations can be made HERE.

A message from the Editor:

Thank you for reading this story on our news site - please take a moment to read this important message:

As you know, our aim is to bring you, the reader, an editorially led news site and magazine but journalism costs money and we rely on advertising, print and digital revenues to help to support them.

With the Covid-19 pandemic having a major impact on our industry as a whole, the advertising revenues we normally receive, which helps us cover the cost of our journalists and this website, have been drastically affected.

As such we need your help. If you can support our news sites/magazines with either a small donation of even £1, or a subscription to our magazine, which costs just £27.55 per year, (inc p&P and mailed direct to your door) your generosity will help us weather the storm and continue in our quest to deliver quality journalism.

As a subscriber, you will have unlimited access to our web site and magazine. You'll also be offered VIP invitations to our events, preferential rates to all our awards and get access to exclusive newsletters and content.

Just click here to subscribe and in the meantime may I wish you the very best.
