LightSpeed Broadband grows Lincolnshire based team with local talent

Spalding-based internet service provider, LightSpeed Broadband, celebrates its rapidly expanding local team as it welcomes 17 new employees to support its full fibre network roll out in towns across the East of England, which will create 30 local jobs.

Based at its new company headquarters, Grade II listed Fulney Hall, the new recruits will join a team of highly experienced broadband experts from across the telecoms industry, over 40% of which live in the East of England, and will carry out office-based roles including Customer Service, Sales and Network Management positions.

The LightSpeed network roll out is moving at pace with one hundred engineers working across ten towns in South Lincolnshire and West Norfolk, and teams getting ready to start work in another ten towns this Autumn in North Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex to build the future-proof, ultra-reliable gigabit full fibre network.

On track to reach 100,000 homes and businesses across the East of England by the end of 2022, extending to 1 million by 2025, LightSpeed’s mission is to bring its network to communities currently underserved by the existing broadband infrastructure unlocking their digital potential and becoming the region’s leading provider.

Residents and local businesses in Boston, Bourne, Holbeach, King’s Lynn, Long Sutton, Market Deeping, Skegness, Sleaford, Spalding and Stamford will be able to connect directly to its network and experience symmetrical upload and download speeds of 1 gigabit (1000 Mbps), 23 times faster than the average broadband speeds across the East of England and five times more reliable than standard fibre. First customers will start to be connected from across these towns from this Autumn.

Liz France, Contact Centre Manager, LightSpeed Broadband, said: “It’s brilliant to be a part of such a strong team of experts who are passionate about making a difference to local communities. Living in Lincolnshire myself, I’m excited to be working together with fellow locals in our team at our new HQ in Spalding to deliver the best customer service as we roll out our full fibre broadband network across the region.”

Dave Axam Chief Operating Officer, LightSpeed Broadband, added: “We’re building our network at light speed across the region and these latest LightSpeed appointments show our commitment to creating local jobs and bringing together the best of the industry’s expertise.

“Our plans to create our headquarters in Spalding are coming to life and we’re excited to become part of the local community and better understand the towns we’re working in.”

Gigabit broadband speeds will mean residents will soon be able to experience a super smooth connection for simultaneous professional home working, streaming online entertainment, high speed gaming, and video calling, with no buffering, no lag and no dropouts.

Work is also starting in a further ten towns this Autumn including Cromer, Dereham, Hunstanton, Sheringham and Thetford in Norfolk; Stowmarket in Suffolk and Clacton-on-Sea, Frinton-on-Sea, Maldon and Witham in Essex.
