Nicholsons’ C2C2C ride raises money for LIVES

A team of keen cyclists from Nicholsons chartered accountants has completed the 100 mile Lincoln Castle to Coast to Castle in aid of the LIVES Charity.

The seven strong team consisted of members with a mixture of abilities and machines. Some people had only previously undertaken ten mile rides, while Simon Hall competed on an Access LN6 hire bike. The circular C2C2C route saw the cyclists depart from Lincoln Castle’s Bailgate and head to Chapel Saint Leonards. The Nicholsons team, albeit minus one member, completed the full distance in an overall time of eleven and a half hours.

The Linconshire-based accountancy firm has twice completed the C2C2C with a team of just three, but this year saw the launch of Nicholsons’ Cycling Club, which bolstered the team numbers.

Simon Hall says, “Our cycling group had been talking about how we could promote the club and in particular raise the profile of our weekly rides from the office. We wanted to come up with an idea that would promote leisurely riding – which is a key value of our club – and riding the 100 miles on a hired bike seemed to fit the bill.”

The team raised over £730 for the LIVES Charity, which was chosen because the team were travelling on the Lincolnshire roads on which the charity’s volunteer medics and first responders attend several life threatening crashes each year.
