The sun shone brightly as hundreds of people enjoyed NK Fest, the culmination of North Kesteven District Council’s Armed Forces Week celebration.
Held at Boston Road Recreation Ground in Sleaford on Sunday, the family-friendly, free event featured performances by The Ruffs, The Snogs, Waterloo Live, Status Duo, Collaborative Choir and the Blighty Belles.
The Sleaford and District Royal British Legion’s Standard was blessed during a service in the afternoon, where Sleaford Concert Band also played.
After a hard-fought competition, musical group Scenic Route were crowned winners of the Let Your Talent Shine competition, a contest organised by Youth NK following auditions held around the District in the spring.
There were plenty of stalls and a bouncy castle and climbing wall for younger members of the family to enjoy.
Councillor Richard Wright, Leader of NKDC, said: “NK Fest was a fantastic way to round off our Armed Forces Week celebrations and it was great to see the community come together to show their support.
“In North Kesteven, we’re proud of our Armed Forces and to be at the very heart of Bomber County. The acts of self sacrifice by all who serve and have served can never be underestimated and must never be forgotten.
“Thanks to all who visited, took part and helped to organise the event and make it the success it was.”
