Dog owners can get a free health MOT for their pets at a series of checks this summer.
City of Lincoln Council’s Neighbourhood Teams and the PDSA have teamed up for the events which will use the animal charity’s PetCheck vehicle where canine visitors will have their weight, body shape, teeth, eyes, coat and general fitness assessed as well as offering some expert advice on caring for other pets.
Some preventative treatments will be on offer at an affordable cost and Cats Protection neutering vouchers will also be available.
The events will take place from 10am to 5pm on:
• Tuesday, August 5 at St Luke’s and St Martin’s Church in Birchwood
• Wednesday, August 6 at Boultham Park
• Thursday, August 7 at The Arboretum Café car park
• Friday, August 8 at Sudbrooke Community Centre
Sam Harris, city council Community Caretaker for the south says: “We’re really pleased to have been selected to host a PetCheck vehicle from the PDSA as we know people in Lincoln love and care for their pets, so this gives them an ideal opportunity to get them checked free of charge.
“It’s worth getting your pet assessed even if you think they’ll be given a clean bill of health, but it’s also a great chance to ask the experts if there’s anything you’re particularly concerned about.
“We hope to see as many people as possible at the four events taking place at different city locations.”
For safety reasons only dogs can be brought along for checks and should be kept on the lead at all times. Full details of all events can be found at www.pdsa.org.uk/petcheck.
