From Monday, social gatherings of more than six people will be illegal, following new measures introduced by government to curb rising rates of COVID-19.
The government said that under the new law larger meetings of people taking place socially indoors or outdoors, will be banned.
However, this will not apply to schools, workplaces or socially distanced weddings, funerals and organised team sports. Moreover, households and support bubbles with more than six people will be unaffected.
People flouting the new law will be fined £100 which will double on each offence up to a maximum amount of £3,200.
