Stamford has again been named one of the best places to live in Britain by The Sunday Times.
The town has made the top ten in the Midlands section of the newspaper’s annual Best Places To Live list. It was named the best in the country in 2013 and was runner-up in 2017.
This year it is described as: “Still the best-looking town in Britain.”
Among the attractions given a special mention are the thriving Friday market, Corn Exchange and Arts Centre and its more than 600 listed buildings. The Shop Stamford campaign is also praised for its support of high street businesses.
A spokesperson for South Kesteven District Council said: “Stamford is steeped in history and full of character and it’s no surprise that it is so highly rated. It remains a wonderful place in which to live, work and invest.”
