Entrepreneurial young people are invited to trial new business ideas, and sell creative products at a special Teenage Market in Louth this May, to mark the launch of Love Your Local Market fortnight.
The Teenage Market gives young people a free platform to showcase their creative talents and East Lindsey District Council has teamed up with Bishop Grosseteste University to bring The Lincoln Teenage Market on tour to Louth on May 18, 2019.
The Teenage Market is all about supporting the next generation of market traders and bringing an influx of energy, vibrancy and diversity to towns across the UK. Traders and performers aged between 10 and 29 are able to apply for a free stand at the event, and family friendly entertainment will take place throughout the day.
Esther Belton, the District Council’s Markets Manager, said: “We are always on the lookout for fresh new talent and the next generation of market traders, so we are delighted to be able to work with Bishop Grosseteste University to bring this opportunity to Louth. We will be offering incentives to all traders on the day to sign up to trade again.”
Becky Goodman, Enterprise Development Manager, and Nikki Smith; Careers, Employability and Enterprise Adviser at Bishop Grosseteste University, said: “We are delighted to work with East Lindsey District Council to bring The Lincoln Teenage Market on tour to Louth. We have been running these events in Lincoln for the last two years and have achieved considerable success, with some traders now having their own stores, established businesses, and brands. It would be great to work with the local community to emulate this in Louth.”
