Bosses at the wildlife park aimed to integrate the birds with more polite counterparts in a main enclosure, to dilute their behaviour. While fears arose that this could backfire, with Chief Executive, Steve Nichols, noting that the wildlife park could end up with 100 swearing parrots on their hands, keepers have said they have not heard many expletives. However, now a new issue appears to be arising. Nichols shared with the BBC: “One of them has taken to singing We Wish You a Merry Christmas over and over again.” Though this would be festive in December, hearing this all year round may become a little tedious! Strange shopping stories A new exhibition is revealing strange stories from Lincolnshire’s shopping history. Taking visitors on a journey through shopping centres, supermarkets and music shops in North East Lincolnshire from times gone by, ‘Shop ‘Til You Drop’ features photographs of shops on Freeman Street, Victoria Street, St Peter’s Avenue and more, and interesting and unusual stories. Have you ever heard of the department store terrorised by squirrels? How about the fight between neighbouring hardware dealers? What about the chemist who claimed that a bottle of his ‘restorer’ could return grey hair back to its original colour in just 6 days! The free nostalgic exhibition retelling the tales will take place at Grimsby Town Hall on Wednesday 3 April. watercooler 78 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything?
