< PreviousThe car features a superior standard spec over its older, but still very able GT410 Sport sibling. Long story short; the fresh Lotus provides anyone lucky enough to get behind the wheel with improved usability and a better level of driving comfort. The up-to-the-minute set of wheels from the sports car maker’s Norfolk headquarters is designed to be a usable ‘every day’ ride. It comes fitted with Sparco sport seats and air-conditioning to create a more relaxed environment for all occupants. What’s more, tech, such as a reversing camera increases safety during low-speed manoeuvres. Additionally, a high-class infotainment system with All-New Lotus Evora GT410 UNIQUELY BRILLIANT navigation and Apple CarPlay is now factory- fitted - and includes digital radio for the first time. Enhanced sound insulation for reduced road roar and better refinement further improves the drive. The car holds the road wonderfully – especially in corners, where the Lotus feels like it’s on rails. Much of this is to do with a revised damper rate. While it still delivers thrills, the ride is more compliant – so our British pothole peppered Lotus has launched a spanking new version of the Evora for 2020 – the sizzling GT410. 70 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY COUNTY MOTORING 70-71.qxp_Layout 1 29/04/2020 11:48 Page 1roads aren’t necessarily an issue for this model! Furthermore, the use of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S all-weather tyres means 365 days a year usability, while a new rear tailgate features a large glass section for impressive rear visibility. Astonishingly, with a price of only £82,900, the new GT410 is £3,000 less than the GT410 Sport, so it delivers extraordinary value for money. Maybe Lotus is desperate? Or is that just us being cynical? Whatever the case, the Evora GT410 is a little bit lovely and is a perfect big boy’s toy. Expect 186mph out of this (where you can do it) – and don’t be surprised when your skull welds itself to the headrest – 0-60mph only takes 4.1 seconds. Whatever you do, though, please be careful – this is a car that should still be handled carefully. And, if you cherish your licence, we suggest you find a racetrack when you feel that “speed demon” naughtiness in you coming out to play! Even though you may not have been in touch with someone for such a long time, do not immediately give up the chance of a happy reconciliation and catch up because there will be lots to talk about. Duty won’t get much of a look in when you are amongst loved ones and good friends. Taurus Apr 21 - May 21 If you are fed up with your work and seeking a change of direction, don’t give up the search. Something along the lines you are hoping for will turn up and give you the chance to really shine in a completely new environment. Cancer Jun 22 - Jul 23 You don’t have to splash your cash in order to impress anyone, but you may need to find an outlet to release all that nervous energy. You may hear from someone you no longer wish to associate with, but they may not give up the chase that easily either. Leo Jul 24 - Aug 23 Your intention is to get on with the rest of your life and break free of ties that have thwarted and restricted both your movements and ambitions. It’s important that you know exactly which direction you are going in and not allow people who are fearful to stand in your way by drip feeding you with their negativity. Virgo Aug 24 - Sep 23 Romantic adventure and fun times will keep you interested in what is coming next. Beware of a false friend or someone who does not have your happiness at heart. Learning new phrases and reading up on holiday places beforehand will give you the chance to plan a few excursions. Libra Sep 24 - Oct 23 Taking up a new hobby or creating a business idea will appeal to your desire to succeed where perhaps others have failed. Not one to give up at the first hurdle, it looks as though you are about to make a major breakthrough regarding one particular scenario. Scorpio Oct 24 - Nov 22 In your personal life a brand new romance will set your heart racing as you begin to develop feelings for a person who is totally different to anyone you have ever met before and whom you feel a spiritual connection with. In business matters, legal papers may also need urgent attention especially where banking and investments are concerned. Sagittarius Nov 23 - Dec 21 Call upon your creative skills if you feel a prospect has lost some of its momentum. You may be secretly worrying about money and the future outcome of any investments you have made. Long distance travel looks likely and if you are hoping to pack your bags and take off on a brand-new adventure, this is the perfect time to put some concrete plans into place. Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 19 A fresh pair of eyes is needed for you to deal with a problem you are unable to figure out easily so don’t be afraid to ask for advice because the answer will be simple. Always be choosy with whom you associate with and be selective with your friendship circle. We attract exactly what we focus on, both good and bad. Pisces Feb 20 - Mar 20 Even though you may not be entirely happy with your lot because, let’s face it, life isn’t perfect for anyone, you are still the eternal optimist and forever grateful for what you have, almost putting a few other people to shame as they continue to moan, groan and complain. Send your rib-ticklers to d.cuthbert@blmgroup.co.uk First panic buying, then panic ripping soap dispensers off walls Before the outbreak of COVID-19 was officially declared a pandemic, people were panic-buying, clearing the aisles of toilet paper like a horde of incontinent locusts. As if that wasn’t bad enough, a few ruffians resorted to stealing loo roll and soap from public toilets, but some toilets were hit harder than others. East Lindsey District Council was forced to close three public toilets after a sink and a soap dispenser were ripped off the wall in Coningsby. Thankfully, the toilets have since opened but it goes to show the depths some will sink to. Remember, we’re all in this together, folks. Be kind and considerate and remember your actions affect others. Another month has passed us by so that means another edition of our By the watercooler series where we share some of the funniest news stories to pass this way. Lincoln’s awfully eerie without any people Eerie images of Lincoln’s empty streets have emerged. It’s likely none of us have ever seen the town so bereft of visitors, leaving it looking more than a little uncanny. It’s not only the streets, but the roads too as social distancing measures keep people inside. Except, of course, for key workers and photographer Joshua Bell who kindly sent us photos capturing our favourite city in all its odd emptiness. You can see the rest of the images on home page here: https://bit.ly/2JFed2L © Joshua Bell © Shutterstock/SpeedKingz Weird and wonderful charity shop donations Charity shops might be currently closed during the lockdown, but even that might not be enough to stem some of the strange donations they’ve received. Some of the weirdest include stuffed owls and, get this, a blood- stained wedding dress. The findings come from waste collection company, Business Waste, who asked charity shop workers and volunteers to list their weirdest finds. Some of the strangest include thirty self-portraits of the same man, tins of octopus, a sealed box said to be “cursed”, stained sheets, and “far too many” wedding photo albums. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever seen in a charity shop? Let us know and your response might be featured next month.
