< PreviousNot your average leak Workmen called in to fix a leak in a vacant Grimsby shop have been left in shock by an unusual sight. Upon lifting the shutters to the store on Freeman Street, staff from Humber Homes Heating Ltd quickly became aware that the shop was no longer empty, being met by a red milk snake. A pillowcase from a resident in a flat above the shop was borrowed to capture the non-venomous snake, commonly found in North and South America, which was taken to the Blue Cross Animal Hospital. It comes just a year after street cleaners in Grimsby stumbled upon a large dead python. It appears the town is becoming a hotspot for exotic animal encounters. watercooler 70 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything? Send your rib-ticklers to m.fisher@blmgroup.co.uk By the Nightclub naps In a real life scene from the Hangover movies, a night out in Lincoln saw two men stranded on a club’s roof. Drone footage from Lincolnshire Police shows the friends on top of the building, sleeping deeply as rescue efforts got underway. Fortunately, police were able to guide the men to safety, with the assistance of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue, and no-one was hurt. Questions remain unanswered however — how the two men managed to fall asleep on the roof of a nightclub in the first place, and why they chose the roof for a nap rather than going home. One less drink may be called for on the men’s next night out! © stock.adobe.com/deagreez A case of mistaken identity A terrifying situation has turned into a much more light-hearted case of mistaken identity after a “lifeless body” was reported in a farmer’s field near Swayfield. Following a call from a concerned passenger on a passing train, police were relieved to find a scarecrow “asleep on the job.” Once “uprighted and given some bird scaring tips along with some jolly good words of advice,” the scarecrow “was allowed to get back to work,” said police. Speaking to BBC Radio Lincolnshire, PC Christopher Windsor-Beck noted that the scarecrow “was dressed quite well” with “workmen’s trousers on and a puffer-type coat.” He added that although the force had dealt with similar incidents in the past which turned out to be mannequins, this was the first involving a scarecrow. © stock.adobe.com/Rusty Dodson © stock.adobe.com/ adrenalinapura 70.qxp_Layout 1 18/04/2023 09:04 Page 1www.pescodsquare.com Phone - 01205 353370 | info@pescodsquare.com Our shopping centre includes high street favourites like Costa and Greggs as well as local independent retailers such as Boston Soap.
