New Theatre Royal Lincoln team up with EDAN Lincs to give the gift of panto this Christmas

The New Theatre Royal Lincoln are teaming up with Lincolnshire charity, EDAN Lincs Domestic Abuse Service, to give local families some Christmas magic this year thanks to a new initiative, NTR Wishes.

The New Theatre Royal Lincoln believes that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the fun, spectacle, and escapism of theatre. And nothing shouts fun, spectacle, and escapism better than a pantomime. Unfortunately, not everyone is in the financial position to visit the theatre this Christmas, so the New Theatre Royal Lincoln developed NTR Wishes.

NTR Wishes allows local businesses to sponsor families, through purchasing pantomime tickets for them. Now, the theatre has joined together with charity EDAN Lincs, who will distribute some of the donated tickets to families in their care.

EDAN Lincs offers advice and support to anyone that has been impacted by domestic abuse; through its Outreach Service and emergency refuge accommodation, offering support to men or women, with or without children, who are suffering or have suffered domestic abuse.

EDAN Lincs are excited to work with the New Theatre Royal Lincoln, and their NTR Wishes initiative, as this will benefit the families it supports who have experienced domestic abuse. EDAN Lincs are also delighted to stand together with the theatre against domestic abuse, raising awareness of domestic abuse during and beyond its ‘16 days of action’ campaign.

These ticket donations were made possible thanks to the businesses which have already signed up to this initiative including Stokes Tea & Coffee, LCS IT Support, FFN Lincoln, Baa Baby, Ruddocks, BW Beauty, The White Hart Hotel, Twisted Tension, and Saul Fairholm. But the theatre does not want to stop there. If any local businesses would like to be involved in, or want some information about NTR Wishes, then they can contact Lee at the New Theatre Royal at lee@ntrlincoln.co.uk.

Talking about NTR Wishes the theatre’s Artistic Director, Natalie Hayes-Cowley, said: “Our theatre family whole-heartedly believe that everyone should be able to experience the magic of panto, and EDAN Lincs felt like the perfect fit for our NTR Wishes initiative. We’re so pleased to be working with this great organisation who will help us distribute a number of tickets to those who could benefit from some festive cheer this Christmas.”

Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother of all pantomimes, follows the theatre’s most successful pantomime to date, Beauty & the Beast, in 2021/22. Starring Jake Quickenden, Ian Waite, Kerry Katona and more, Cinderella will feature popular songs, dazzling costumes, stunning choreography, hilarious jokes, and plenty of audience interaction. The show runs from Tuesday 6th December 2022 – Sunday 8th January 2023, and tickets are available now via the theatre’s website and box office.

If you are experiencing domestic abuse and need urgent help, please contact the Police on 999. For further help and support in Lincolnshire, please contact EDAN Lincs on 01522 510041, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm.
