Skegness care home sold for first time since 1987

Syne Hills Care Home in Skegness has been sold to allow its owners to enjoy a new chapter in their lives.

Established over 35 years ago, Syne Hills is a traditional, family-run care facility registered for 30 residents. It occupies a converted and extended property set on 1.8 acres of land in the popular seaside town.

The home has been owned by Jean and Christopher Sweeney and their family since 1987. Following a confidential sales process with Rosie Turner at Christie & Co, it has been sold to a new market entrant, JKS Care Ltd.

Jean and Christopher Sweeney, the former owners of Syne Hills Care Home, said: “We are delighted to confirm the careful, sensitive, and successful sale of our much-loved family business. After 38 years of dedication to our residents, staff and families, this was not only a ‘one-off’ business decision, but an emotional and deeply personal one.

“Ensuring the future of what we have nurtured and finding the right people to take it forward has always been our absolute priority. We feel extremely fortunate to have found such experienced and passionate new owners, and we are confident that they share our values and ethos and will continue to deliver the very highest standards of care and support within Syne Hills for many years to come.

“This marks the end of one special chapter, but the beginning of another equally promising one, and we move forward with great confidence and gratitude.”

Kanagasingam Kannan, co-owner at JKS Care Ltd, said: “We are delighted to have completed the purchase of Syne Hills, which has clearly benefited from strong leadership and a dedicated team. We are committed to honouring that legacy by building on the excellent foundations already in place and ensuring that residents and their families continue to receive the highest standard of care, compassion and support.”

Rosie Turner, senior business agent – care at Christie & Co, said: “I was delighted to have helped Chris and Kerry find the right buyers to take over their much-loved family care business. We ran a highly confidential marketing process, and due to the home’s profit and reputation, we received an incredible amount of interest. I wish Chris and Kerry the very best for the future and look forward to seeing JKS Care Ltd carry on their legacy.”
