Having escaped its Horncastle home through a cat flap while chasing another pet, Einstein had been missing for 24 hours before being spotted in a neighbour’s tree on Queen Street. Turning to a tree surgeon for assistance, the five-year- old iguana was eventually saved with the help of chimney rods, salvage sheets and rope equipment. watercooler 86 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything? Send your rib-ticklers to m.fisher@blmgroup.co.uk By the Sherlock Drone Lincolnshire has seen plenty of personification of the inanimate as of late, with the craze of naming council equipment and machinery growing. It has recently even been extended to the local police, with the force reaching out for monikers for its new drones! Lincolnshire Police said: “Calling our drones number one, two, three and four felt a little impersonal, after all, they work hard for us and get great results.” Receiving 246 names for the drones, sifting through the submissions was no easy task, with the ultimate winners including Sherlock Drone, who will help solve mysteries across Skegness, and Cristiano Dronaldo, who will make sure the ball isn’t dropped while flying over Lincoln. © stock.adobe.com/Kadmy Beach-side Banksy Lincolnshire seems to have gained its very own Banksy copycat after graffiti of a metal detectorist in the artist’s style appeared on Cleethorpes Beach. It follows the launch of an online petition calling for North East Lincolnshire Council’s “ban” on the activity to be lifted. The art, spray painted onto the promenade wall near Cleethorpes Leisure Centre, has been called “brilliant” on social media and comes after the Council imposed a restriction on metal detecting on the beach due to a section of it being a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). While the sands of Cleethorpes Beach can stretch off for what feels like forever at low tide, acting as the perfect place for metal detectorists to discover artefacts like musket balls and ancient coins, now those caught could be fined £100 if they do not have a prior permit, seeing uproar in the area. The National Council for Metal Detecting is considering taking legal action against the Council to overturn the restriction. © stock.adobe.com/LMPark Photos © stock.adobe.com/ evolutionnowA COMMUNITY FAYRE BY LOCALS, FOR LOCALS Sat 15th July Celebrating and supporting local community with a day filled of entertainment and fun Farm CQB | LN4 1AJ 50p Entry Farm Fest Farm Fest A COMMUNITY FAYRE BY LOCALS, FOR LOCALS Sat 15th July Celebrating and supporting local community with a day filled of entertainment and fun FOOD VENDORS • BRING AND BUY AIRSOFT TASTERS • COMMUNITY LEADERS FAYRE AMUSEMENTS Epic adventures for everyone!
