Outstanding performance is brought by an all-new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain with 782 PS and 1,000 Nm, from a 4.0-litre V8 working in tandem with a 190 PS electric motor. 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds is the result, with the benefit of 50 miles (81 km) of usable electric-only range (on the EU drive cycle) and a total range of 534 miles (859 km) – creating an everyday supercar. The new grand tourer features a new precision quilt pattern taking inspiration from modern fashion design to the seats and doors. With sculptured quilting, fading perforations and a new quilt embroidery, the cabin provides the ultimate cocooning environment for any extraordinary journey. The 20- way adjustable seats in the Continental GT have long set industry standards in comfort and refinement. New interior features include the optional Wellness seating with Postural Adjust and Auto Climate to the front seats, minimizing fatigue and providing a level of relaxation that is truly unique. Audi S e-tron GT The new Audi S e-tron GT stands for elegant sportiness. Its front end is homogeneous and expressive at the same time. A black mask encircles the fully closed, inverted Singleframe, which reflects the specific design language of the e-tron models. Embossed structures give the grille a precise, three-dimensional appearance. The new e-tron GT versions have a steering wheel flattened at the top and bottom. For the RS models, the steering wheel comes with two red control satellites and, optionally, a 12 o’clock marking. The seats have also been upgraded. The new funnel aperture design is more dynamic and now features an integrated inlay with an illuminated logo. The S e-tron GT now comes as standard with the sports seats plus with 14-way adjustment. In combination with the leather-free design package, the sports seats come with contrasting orange stitching. With 40 years of history under its belt, the legendary high-performance saloon from BMW M GmbH is entering its seventh generation with an electrified drive system for the first time. Its sense of poise and assurance is fuelled by vast reserves of power that can be summoned at any time. Kept discreetly in reserve during relaxed, electric-only cruises, this performance comes to the fore as the BMW M5 reveals the “sport saloon” side to its personality over longer distances. The new BMW M5 offers a significantly wider selection of standard and optional systems for automated driving and parking compared to its predecessor, increasing assurance and comfort in day-to-day driving. Standard specification for the new seventh generation BMW M5 brings features such as front collision warning, Lane Departure Warning including lane return with steering assistance, the Evasion Assistant, the Attentiveness Assistant and the Speed Limit Info system. The optional Driving Assistant Professional adds Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function together with tech including the Steering and Lane Control Assistant, traffic light detection, automatic Speed Limit Assist and Active Navigation. LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY 63 PETS CORNER Pets at home Going away can be hard when it means leaving your pets behind, so be sure to do your due diligence – look into the place you’re using. O ne of the hardest things about owning animals is deciding who will keep them while you go on holiday. If you have family or friends who are familiar with the animals and willing to look after them then that’s great, but the cost of living crisis has made it difficult for people to take on extra dependants. More and more people are having to take on work, leaving little time to look after animals for another person, especially if they’re going away for longer periods. There are plenty of kennels and pet hotels across the county, but they can be costly – and there’s also questions by many as to how happy their pets will be 64 Á © stock.adobe.com/Monika Wisniewska© stock.adobe.com/photoPepp 64 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY PETS CORNER being left alone at such places. The harsh reality is that most pets won’t be happy being away from you no matter where you leave them. Expense and luxury won’t matter, because pets bond with their owners and will feel stress when they’re apart. That doesn’t mean holidays need to be off the cards, however. Stress is temporary and will go away once you return, and therefore the main priority should be on making sure your pets are safe while you’re away. Pet hotels and kennels will do their best to engage your pets and keep them entertained, but they also know that it’s more distraction than happiness. It’s about keeping a dog or a cat distracted until their beloved owner returns. When picking out a place to leave your pet, you should always make sure to visit and be given a tour. Images online can be doctored – and usually will be, as especially if your own animal is used to roaming free, but a kennel will have far more animals under its care than people working there, and oftentimes this is to keep them safe. Not all animals will get on with one another and some will have differing degrees of socialisation, so they’ll have to be separated and let out at certain times with animals and everyone does it even with their own social media. A good pet care company will be happy to show you around as long as you give them some warning and pick a time when they aren’t too busy, and their willingness to do so is usually a good sign. Try not to react immediately to seeing other animals in caged enclosures and caches – it can look bad, LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY 65 PETS CORNER handlers they get along with. If a handler is showing you around, that also means they’re not handling the animals at that moment, hence why more might be temporarily locked up. Ask instead about how much time they get outside, how much experience the handlers have, and how many animals are booked in at a given time. The less crowded a place is, the more time and attention your pet is likely to receive. If your pet has any medical issues then be clear and open about them ahead of time and be honest about behavioural issues as well. There is no point saying your dog is an angel if they routinely snap at other dogs. This could lead handlers to assume your dog has been socialised and release it with others, which could lead to an aggressive dog starting a fight and being wounded by other dogs protecting themselves or coming to the aid of the victim. Dogs, especially, are pack animals and will defend one another from threats. You need to be open and honest with your animal’s needs, temperament and proclivities. © stock.adobe.com/Marina66 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY onwhat’sStamford August 2 Chinese Dragon Dance Workshop - Burghley House Experience the tradition and beauty of Chinese dance.
