< PreviousLost a foot? In a turn of events straight out of a David Lynch movie, Humberside Police have recently made an odd appeal to female amputees to try and solve the origins of a severed foot. Said foot was found in New Waltham, near the old railway track at Louth Road, by a dog walker back in April 2019. However, despite DNA analysis, the owner was never identified, leading police to conclude it was medical waste. But now the force is asking women that have had a left root amputated to come forward. watercooler 90 LINCOLNSHIRE TODAY LincolnshireToday @lincstoday lincolnshiretoday.net Have we missed anything? Send your rib-ticklers to d.cuthbert@blmgroup.co.uk The lockdown has been hard on all of us, but it’s also brought out the best of humanity and demonstrated the true meaning of community. In this special edition of By the Watercooler, we bring you three stories that have emerged over the lockdown that have made us smile and, we hope, will also bring you joy. Rogue terrapin found at Lincolnshire wildlife sanctuary In our second animal escapade story this month, a rogue diamondback terrapin was discovered this summer at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park. Keepers were shocked to discover the animal in one of the enclosures, and believe he was abandoned by an owner trying to re-home him. However, as a spokesman from the Park said, doing so has “endangered its life”. At present, the terrapin is the only one of its kind in the sanctuary. At least he’ll have company, with the Park’s National Turtle Sanctuary housing over 200 terrapins. By the PC sees seal near Sleaford When one looks out their back window, typically one expects to find birds. Perhaps a fox, deer, or hedgehog, but not a seal. Yet that’s exactly what PC Green of Lincolnshire Police saw when glancing out his window at his home in Billinghay. The seal, which was seen lounging on a garden wall before taking to the shade on the lawn, has since been guided back to the sea. Quite how it made its way all the way to such a remote village remains a mystery. © Sleaford Police © Shutterstock/oOhyperblaster © Lincolnshire Wildlife Park 90.qxp_Layout 1 19/08/2021 14:01 Page 1SUPPLIERS OF QUALITY PRESSURE TREATED TIMBER To discover more about our range of timber products visit: www.caldersandgrandidge.com Email enquiries@caldersandgrandidge.com or call our experts on 01205 358866 Fencing Poles Track Timbers 91.qxp_Layout 1 19/08/2021 09:13 Page 1www.oms.uk.com 01530 833 533 info@oms.uk.com Helping you to perform at the highest level OMS have delivered consultancy and training services throughout the Midlands and UK for over 22 years.
